Maroc.ma/MAP (Davos, Switzerland, January 24, 2014) — The institution of the monarchy bolsters Morocco’s unique political experience because of the unifying role it plays in the North African nation, Moroccan Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane said on Friday in Davos.
Morocco has remained immune to the wave of crises that rocked the Arab region, thanks to the monarchy and its role as a vehicle of trust and stability, said Benkirane during a panel organized held at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The panel, held under the theme “The Promise of North Africa,” was moderated by American journalist and writer Fareed Rafiq Zakaria.
Discussing the Moroccan experience, Benkirane highlighted the spirit of realism and anticipation by King Mohammed VI which enabled Morocco to enter a new constitutional era with a new generation of reforms.
